Victoria Secret bras?

Victoria

I dont understand the difference between the push-u bras and the demi bras? what do the demi bras do? do you have to hand wash VS bras? what is the right age for people to start shopping at Victoria's Secret?
i only shop in the PINK section

Answer
Push up Bras - Have extra padding on the bottom of the cup to give you that certain look. Very Sexy Bras (A sub-brand of Victoria's Secret) has the most popular push up, but if your young this is probably not the look you are going for. Angel's Push up bras will give you a fuller look. I personally like the Very Sexy bras for special occasions and the Angel's push ups for everyday (they are wayy more comfortable).

Demi Bras - The bra cup is 3/4 the size of a normal bra cup, its worn for when you are wearing lower cut shirts and you don't want the bra cup to show, it is never a push up because you'll fall out of the bra cups... The Demi Cups can give you a rounder shape, but it doesn't have a lot of support.

Yes, hand wash all of the bras!!

You can start shopping there whenever you feel comfortable doing so. If your unsure about your size you can always go to the fitting room and get fitted. Then the Sales Associate can show you all the bras Victoria Secret carries in your size.

How do I sew a customized bra?

How to sew a customized bra

Answer
Bra making is a very satisfying and rewarding hobby and there are many stores that cater to the home bra-maker. They carry everything from patterns to special fabrics and all the little hooks, clasps, and other hardware you will need. You can't make a bra without proper instructions and patterns, bras are surprisingly complex. You don not need a serger or expensive sewing machine, a machine that does straight, zig zag and three step zig zag is all you need.

Here are a couple sites that have everything the beginner bra maker needs:
http://bramakerssupply.com/
http://www.sewsassy.com/index.shtml
Here's a series of lessons on how to make a bra by using one you own for the pattern: http://www.andsewitis.net/braclass/class_start.html
and here's a book I have that has everything you ever wanted to know about making bras: http://www.bramakersmanual.com/

And that should get you started. If you need a custom size making a bra can actually save money.

Boobs are sore when taking off bra?

jenna

I have small boobs and lately for some reason when I put on and take off my bra they're super sore and they hurt and they're super sensitive. Ahh they hurt btw i'm 15 why do they hurt so bad

Answer
It may be that your bra is digging in a bit and causing some minor damage. You may not feel this while wearing the bra because the bra is forcing the blood out of the area where it is digging in â the pain comes on when the bra is removed and the blood flow returns.

If you see any red marks where the edges of the bra were that could be a sign. Maybe you need a better fitting bra. It may also be best if you take a break from wearing a bra whenever you can, like when just relaxing at home. You should definitely avoid wearing one in bed.

Where to buy cheap but decent bras?

Isabella

I usually buy bras at walmart, but my gma really hates paying $10 per bra, so i was wondering if there was a cheaper place to buy bras? (yes, I know, we're cheap). I don't care about brand, or design. as long as it's an under-wire, it's fine. (I really really hate sports-bras) So, can anybody help me, or am I stuck with the Walmart $10?

Answer
You really aren't going to find bras that are cheaper than that unless someone is having a HUGE sale and/or that particular brand or style is being discontinued. Try stores like Stein Mart, Ross, etc.
When Dillard's has their huge sales, sometimes you can find some bras for around the price you are requesting. Victoria's Secret has there semi-annual sale twice a year (January and July) and their bras will run about $19.99.
I know you said that your family is cheap, but a good bra is a good investment. That is one item you shouldn't be cheap on. You really do get what you pay for. Bras that are $10.00 and below, such as bras from Walmart don't give you the support that you will need. A good bra can make a huge difference in your appearance.

Where to get cheap bras?

Kim

My boobs are growing like crazy and I would like a good quality bra, but not an expensive one because I don't know if they'll be done growing. I'm about 14 weeks pregnant so I know they are going to get biiig the get smaller again after I breast feed. Soooo Is there anywhere that I can get a good cheap bra? Right now I need to find a 32D. Which I already know is going to be practically impossible. I can make a 34D work I suppose though. (I don't need nursing bras, just regular ones)

Answer
The bras at Ross are inexpensive, probably between $10-$18 or so. I think that Nordstrom Rack has a better quality and selection of bras (especially if you have a larger cup size), if you are willing to spend closer to $20-$30. The prices at Target would probably fall somewhere in between. Maybe consider some sports bras? The material is usually stretchy, so you might be able to get more use out of them as your chest size increases and decreases again later after you are done nursing.

maternity sleep bra??

Q. Do I really need the cotton ones or can I wear a normal nursing bra?

Answer
I'm sure you'd be fine wearing a regular nursing bra, I bought these sleeping ones from Motherhood Maternity that I love. I wear them during the day since I'm at home anyways, they're more comfy then ones with the underwires.

What is the best Maternity bra you have purchased?

*FutureEMS

I'm looking for one that give me more lift without the wire, & it very comfy...
gives* it's* (blah, dang typeos, lol)

Answer
As far as wireless maternity bras go, pretty much any soft, cotton bra you usually like to wear, you can wear when you're pregnant, just adjust the size to fit as your body grows. Now nursing bras on the other hand are another story all together. I really like Elle Macpherson's 'La Mere' nursing bra, and Bravado makes a great sports type bra. A great 'lift and seperate' bra without an underwire is the Condessa bra, very chic and retro, and way cute. I've included links to all the bras listed.

Strapless longline bra?

NicosMommy

Has anyone tried a decent strapless longline bra good for larger chests? I'm DD and I desperately need a strapless bra for a wedding but I have no idea what brands or styles are best. Is there any strapless out there that will give bustier women good support? I am getting frustrated because so far all the comments online are very negative and say that there is no strapless bra on the planet for larger breasts. If that's true, then that's a sad day for my girls.

Answer
No strapless bras on the planet for a rich bosum? If that's the case, who's dressing Queen Latifa? Camryn Manheim? Macy Gray? Missy Elliot? or classics like Leotyne Price and good golly - Ella Fitzgerald! (and so-so-so many others).

In the current era, there are few long line garments in general, which makes it tougher in heartier sizes, but the concept of support does not stop at 34B and a DD can certainly be corseted. Going strapless depends on the garment's excellent fit, longer line, and full boning (so expect a substantial garment) but with a few modern touches: lighter weight fabrics, latex & lycra combinations, etc. A DD can most definately go strapless. From the number of wedding undergarments I have hand beaded, and first-time strapless bridal parties dressed, I swear it is so.

For your own comfort, and sense of security in your first garment of this type, I would suggest a full (rather than plunging) back, and a longer long-line, that is, a full merry widow that comes down over the hip. When you dress, you are "rising" and settling your rib cage into the garment (not your breasts); you are verifying your breathing, which will be more vertical and projecting. You check your range of motion, that is, the comfort of your back (and inhalation) as you reach forward gently, or while you are in military-straight backbone, lean side to side (as in smoothing your skirt to sit). Only then do you adjust your bosum, in it's lovely corral. Remember: you are in High Costume and are prepping for the full day, so give yourself some time to dress (and do verify that ribcage to begin).

And for movement take cue from the Sommelier (the wine server): one does not turn over a bottle to serve, one glides hortizontally and gently inclines. A bit of a frank and constructed view of this is the serving Playboy Bunny's "Bunnie Dip" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playboy_Bunny (think: curtsy for the Queen) but I believe you could work out your own style very quickly and with confidence, in a well fitting garment. Ideally, practice before the day - without the dress on - so you can laugh and sweat and enjoy yourself. You'll soon view period-piece movies in a whole new light (and realized why the ladies did not slouch - it was not the morals); and... might find the imperious structure an interesting sensation worth the elegance of your gown. In dressing, your job is to breathe and to move with grace. The garment itself will address "presentation", and you'll feel your royalty (indeed) . Take a look at these, and good luck to you.

Help! First Bra, girls only!?

Q. So this is my first question on yahoo!,and I have some questions about my first bra.

Ok, so I am in gr. 8, and I'm going to get my first padded bra next week with my friend at Aerie, and i have a few questions

1. How do you discreetly wash a padded bra, and drying it without people seeing?

2. How do I confront my mom that I'm going to buy one?

3. What happens if my brother or dad start making fun of me?

P.S. I can't dry it in the bathroom because I share it with my brother D:
I'm getting a Lightly Lined Bra

Answer
Hey girl,

I would tell your mom first that you feel like you are ready to start wearing a bra. It really is not a big deal, she has been wearing one for years! As far as washing goes, you can start washing your own laundry and put it in with that or you can fill up your bathroom sink with warm water and add just a teenie bit of laundry soap or hand soad, scrub it good with your hands or a rag. Squeeze it out good and then take it back to your room and fold a towl in half, put the bra on the towel and then fold it long ways again over the bra and let it dry on your bed or on another surface. Your brother might tease you, boys are stupid, i don't think your dad would make fun of you. Just be descreet about it and keep it private if you don't want them to know about it.

ps you don't need a majorly padded bra, just something that is thick enough to cover and secure your girls ;0)

Why did girls start wearing bras?

nokagirl

okay, im no idiot. I know that people wear them to make the girls stay up and so they dont show through a shirt. But how did this start? does anyone know the history? Like did women wear them 100 years ago?
And do any of you think there stupid? especially for girls like me who have really small boobs.
neelikes....- i dont show my nipples!
you know the padding in swimsuit tops?
i take that out and put it in my camisole,
you cant see thru at all.

Answer
Bra fashion history began as far back as Cretan times, but 1907, was the year when the word brassiere was first reported in an American copy of Vogue. The original French meaning was support, but the word was out of use and the French chose to call a bra soutien-gorge. Cretan women wore bras thousands of years ago. In England bust improvers were available in the Edwardian period. By 1905 BBs as they were known were usual wear.

Bra fashion history truly began with the first bra to be patented. The first bra was patented in 1914 by Mary Phelps-Jacobs an American. It is not thought to be the first bra ever, but it is the first patented record and that gives her the credit.

Mary Phelps-Jacobs patented her bra design under the patent name of Caresse Crosby. Some suggest it was her French maid who provided the idea or the stitching help. Two silk handkerchiefs were tied together, baby ribbon sewn on to make straps and a seam set in the centre front.
After 1918 fashion bras were simply lace fabric bands with straps. The boyish figures needed for styles by designers like Chanel didn't need upholstered corsets.

The best bra to get the right effect was called the Symington Side Lacer, a reinforced bust bodice. Side lacing meant that it flattened the bust when laced tightly. Soon the word brassière was abandoned for bra and ever since in fashion history we have referred to the bra.

Bra history took on a new dimension when in 1935, Warners introduced four cup sizes called A, B, C and D, but it was well into the 1950s before Britain followed this American standard. The British corset manufacturers were still using coy descriptions like junior and medium to describe breast fullness.

Bosoms were dethroned and separate breasts were really acknowledged.

Fashion history is always affected by material shortages during and immediately after wars. In the war era after 1940, bras were made from minimal fabric when they bore the Utility mark. Utility bras were serviceable bras using broche, a cotton backed satin or drill and often peach pink in colour. Supplies were very limited and were best ordered. Twilfit manufactured utility bras and Twilfit were a household name for roll-ons and bras in the 1950s.

Women also made their own bras from paper patterns or magazine guidelines for making bra and French knicker sets. The fabric they used was sometimes parachute silk, parachute nylon or old satin wedding dresses. Once the 1950s arrived changes in textile technology saw new developments in all underwear items, but particularly in the costume history of bras.

Fashion history has shown that by the 1950s glamour was what women wanted most. They had been deprived in the war and they had seen the Hollywood stars that had uplift that almost reached their necks. Brand names like Maidenform, Berlei, Triumph and the British Marks & Spencer bras under the St. Michael label all sold excellent bras that gave the correct pointed circular stitched conical shape of the era.
The conical bra was the bra that gave the support silhouette for girls who longed to emulate the curves of film star sweater girls like Lana Turner and Jane Russell. Bra history changed for the better as bras began to be revolutionized by the use of nylon, making them lighter, prettier and easier to wash.
In the 1990s when silicone breast implants and other implants caused scares, many women looked to bras to improve their breast size. The Wonderbra was a huge hit and bestseller all over again in the 1990s.

Where can i find a supportive Sports bra for dance. I need nude/ clear strap, (D) but i cant find dance bras w enough support or normal sporst bras w clear straps... Where should i look? (Order online)

Answer
Try BrasJust4U.com and possibly get the straps altered/changed.

REASONS YOU NEED A Custom Fit Bra THAT WORK WITH YOUR BODY

* Your bust has no muscle.
* Wheage.n gravity pulls your breast down, it also stretches your throat and face tissue.
* Your breast depends on an outside source of support to keep its shape.
* The shape of your breast is determined by the bras you wear.
* Ordinary bras on the market today are only covers.
* Your bust must be lifted to allow for proper circulation.
* Without proper support, lymphatic drainage is impeded, which interferes with cellular health.
* Breast disease is more likely when there is no circulation and lymphatic drain.

Please Help!!!! I think bras suck!!!!
but some of them are kinda cute and i really need one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
Okay, the numbers don't have anything to do with the cup size, it's the straps. So don't worry about "having a huge cup size".

LOL, when I got my first real bra I was about 11 in a 34a. Within about a year I went from that to a 34c. I was soo embarrassed because all the girls where still flat chested and guys looked at me funny. But now I'm over it. But I still won't wear a polo shirt. :] What I'm trying to say, you won't be very comfortable at first, but you'll learn to accept it. I hated wearing them, but in a few months time, I hated not wearing them.

I know bra shopping can be very frustrating. I hate it too. You are definitely not alone on that.

Bra Fitting??

parentof3p

What will happen when I take my 12 year old daughter for a bra fitting?

Where do I go?
What will they do?
How far does she have to undress, if at all?
Will they have to see her topless?
Will they touch her breasts?
Do they do it right in the middle of the store or whatever?
What should she wear?

Thanks so much!

Answer
So i just had a bra fitting a couple weeks ago since my old ones were getting a bit small (i'm 14)

-I went to Aeries by American Eagle. Everyone who works there is female so there isn't anything for you to wory about.

-when you ask them for a measure, they'll take you and your daughter to the dressing rooms

- i didn't have to undress at all. she just put the measuring tape around my chest and measured
they do not have to see her topless, you can if you want her wear a tank top or something, but they do not ask for her to take off her clothes

-they will not touch any part of her breast or near, the measuring only lasted for around 10 seconds

- no they will not do it in the middle of the store, its back in the dressing rooms

- she should wear anything she wants. it should make no difference whatsoever. if she feels comfortable, maybe have her wear a tanktop beneath a t shirt so that she can maybe just wear a tank top for the fitting, if not, it's perfectly ok.

good luck! just so you know, an alternative to this is if you or your daughter dont feel comfortable enough to do this, is just go to a store that specificly sells bras and try different ones on until she finds that one that fits and feels the best.

--- you might not want to take her to a huge department store like macy or jcpennys to do this becaue there are guys around and she might not feel comfortable enough for them to see that shes buying a bra

good luck!

How do you find your correct bra size?

I know that you take the measure under your breast, add 4/5 inches, then measure around the fullest part and then subtract the two numbers. But do you subtract from the original number, or the one after you've added 4/5 in.
Can you please help me with this?

Answer
Don't bother wasting your time trying to get a sales person to fit you. Unless you have very perky breasts.

If I were to go into a store and get fitting for a bra, they would tell me I need to wear a 32 B. Why? Because my boobs are normal, and not perky. Even if I have a bra on. You can't just measure across the largest part of the breast and get an accurate measurement. The only way to get an accurate one is to lean over so your back is parallel to the floor. This way, you actually get the full measurement of your breasts. But stores don't do this, I don't know why. My end result was a 32 D by the way...just to show you how far off the measuring can really be.

Best way is to just try them on until you find the right size.

BEST FRIENDS: Could write a very embarrassing biography on your life story...

I measured my bust and it's 30 inches, then I measured beneath my bust and it's 28 inches. What is my bra size?
I forgot to mention that I do not fit in any AA cups and I can barely make some of the A cups work. So, I've been having trouble with my size.
I do not fit in a 32 A....

Answer
To best measure your bra size its best to do it with your bra off. Go into the bathroom, and use a soft measuring tape. Like the type tailors use, not the hard type constructors and plumbers use. Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of bust. For me and most other women this is usually right across the nipples. Make sure it is fitting naturally around your bust and not too tight nor too loose. Remember this number. This is the CUP size. Now, measure right underneath your bust. Some people say to do it on top of the bust but I like to do it underneath. Measure underneath your bust and remember this number as well. This is the BAND size. Now, subtract the BAND size from your CUP size. If the difference is:

0 inches--AA cup
1 inch--A cup-
2 inches--B cup
3 inches--C cup
4 inches--D cup.......so on and so forth.

Then you take your band size measurement and apply it towards your band size. For example your bust was 30 and your band was 28 so you seem to be a 28 B. However, 28 is a rather small band size. The smallest band you will probably find in most places is a 32. 32 should work just fine and shouldnt be much of a difference. I would go try on some 32 B size bras and let me know how they fit!

First time how the girls measure her bra size?

Genious

First time how the girls measure her bra size?

Answer
Well if this is the first time you are buying a bra, you should be a smaller size like A or something. But if those are too small:

Run a tape measure all the way around your body just underneath your breasts and take a measurement in inches. If the number is even, add 4 and if it is odd, add 5. This will give you your band size. For instance, if you measured 28 inches, your band size will be 32.

To find your cup size, measure around the fullest part of the bust in inches, not too tightly or the measurement will be inaccurate. Then subtract your band size from this measurement. This will help you to determine your cup size. If the bust size is less than the band size, you are an AA cup. If there is no difference between the two measurements, your cup size is A. A 1 inch difference indicates a B cup, 2 inches is a C cup, 3 is a D cup and so on. You can use this chart to find out your cup size.

minus 1 inches AA
0 inches A
1 inches B
2 inches C
3 inches D
4 inches DD
5 inches E
6 inches F

Where can I buy nursing bras?

Cloth on B

I live in kind of a rural area. The closest maternity store I know of is about 50 miles away. The thing is, I cannot travel more than 50 miles or my insurance won't cover me if I go into labor! Can I find them at regular department stores? We have a JC Penny and Sears here.

Also, when should I buy them? I'm 35 1/2 wks now, but I don't want to get them so soon that my breasts grow more and they don't fit. Thanks!

Answer
I had a really horrible time finding a good nursing bra. For my first two babies I bought a Playtex nursing bra and hated it. It made me look really frumpy and it was uncomfortable. I ended up wearing one of my regular underwire bras and pulled the strap down when I nursed. Throughout the pregnancy I went from a C to a DD so, for me, I preferred underwire.

With my third baby I found a REALLY great bra on eBay. It is an underwire by Wacoal and was half the price. They come in light pink or blue. I even wore them for several months after I quit nursing because I would forget it was a nursing bra. They are also really well constructed in that the part of the bra close to your body is like a regular cup w/a hole in the middle. The outer piece looks like a regular bra. It also gave me more of a "normal" look than the weird look I seemed to get from other nursing bras that I found locally.

These are half the price that you would find them for in the store, if you can find them in the stores close to you at all.

If you want, or can go with, an underwire these are the best!

Oh yeah, for this bra you may want to wait until you start regularly nursing to decide on what size to get. You may very well get larger. If a store somewhere close by has Wacoal bras then you could go & try a similar non-nursing style on to figure out what size to get on eBay.

Is it NECESSARY to get nursing bras for breastfeeding?

Rocky-mom

I intend to breastfeed, however, I've been having a lot of trouble finding nursing and maternity bras that work for me. I'm a bustier gal and all the ones I have tried on so far have been quite uncomfortable and look ridiculous. Would it be alright if I simply used my own bras that are comfortable for me? I just can't find anything that works.

Answer
Nursing bras are a perk but not a need. I have a few nursing bras and a nursing tank, but I also wear regular underwire support bras. When I nurse, I just push the bra underneath my breast.

I'm also busty-er and the nursing bras I have are all regular cloth "sleeping" bras. Actually the one I like the most is a medela sleep nursing bra. It does hold the girls in rather tightly, but at least they don't sag down. I also have a nursing tank from target that I wear without a bra around the house.

Edit: I just want to say, I'm a DD right now. I was a DD during my pregnancy and a DD before pregnancy. Some women's boobs simply don't change size. Mine didn't. So for me, I can use the exact same bras I have always used. But, you're going to want to wait until your milk comes in before you'll know what size you're going to be while nursing. It's pretty common to go up a size. I'd hold off on buying bras for now. Maybe get one cotton stretchy sleep bra to tie you over for a week or 2 post partum and then wait until your baby is born to buy any other bras (nursing or otherwise).

What is the best bra for pregnant women?

Maddie's M

I need to go shopping for a couple of new bras as I've outgrown my old ones! What brands/types (wireless, wire, etc.) bras provide the best and most comfortable support?

Answer
They say that the best bra for you and your boobs is a non wired one. All the nursing and maternity bras are non wired so they dont dig in or press too much on your growing bump when you sit down.

The problem is that if you have bigger boobs non wired bras give very little support and make your boobs look all droopy.

Just try on lots and see what you think. If your planning on breastfeeding then go for the ones that drop down so you can feed without taking it off.

Oh also remember that your boobs will grow loads when your milk comes in. Its very annoying as i had bought bras and then my boobs doubled in size a few days after giving birth lol i had to go and buy new ones. Id go to M&S and get ,measured. Just dont spend loads just yet if your not that far along.

Are underwire bras only for pregnant women?

GothicOtak

It's been awhile since my mom died and so it's difficult making "feminine decisions" So now that I live with my dad and brothers I pick up whatever I see fancy to whenever I go bra shopping. But when I went through the airport metal detector awhile back they stopped me and asked me if i was wearing underwire. My sister in law Lupe said that they are only for women who are pregnant or have been pregnant. Is that true? I have no one to verify this! My mom's been dead since I was 13 and when she was alive all I wore were sports bras. Now I have no need for those since I'm 18 and in college. I'm only a A36....pretty pathetic right? well i AM asian so it's to be expected...anyways is this true? am I doing my feminine shopping all wrong?
So what kind of bra do you think I should get? So sorry that I am deprived of information
Okay not to be immature but that's embarassing to ask someone for a bra fitting... Sorry I'm just ashamed when it comes to my body since i'm petite
I'm a tomboy and I have very few female friends since they're all caddy. Not to mention they are jealous of me since I have a boyfriend and can understand men more than they can. But anyways I'm just going to talk to my niece and sister in law about this stuff

Answer
Underwires are for all women, not just pregnant ones. They are more common in larger-breasted women since they provide extra support. I wear them all the time because they're comfortable.

Improper fitting bra?

Psan

I have never brought bras before in US. I usually get it in India. Now I had to get it here I am really confused about the size. Back in India I used to get 32c. Now I am not sure if I have put on some weight, I tried out in shops n got 32D. Found good in the shop. But after wearing for a long time today seems like the under wire is hitting me under my breast on the ribs beneath. What should I do? Do I need to get a smaller size? Bigger size is again to poke me down I guess.

Answer
85% of women (girls too) are wearing the wrong size bras!

Best answer is not to buy them online, but get a fitting @ stores in your area. JCPenney, Sears, Macy's, Victoria Secret.

If boobs are peeking out, the cups too small, find a different cup, and not all 32Cs one size fits all.

There are style of bras, that just sits there like a suit of armor, but good fitting bras you don't even know they're there! They fits like a glove, lifts, & separates, and gives you fullness and your figure looks good, your dress looks better on you.
Like the other day, I put on one of my VS bras, SAME size, SAME STYLE, different color, and it was a bit too tight. It turned out, the fabric where they sewed the hook & eye, was longer than the other bra, so the length is 2" shorter - making my bra too tight!

You may have to spend a little bit more to find that perfect FIT. You just can't guess, specially buying online and paying for Paypal. I got screwed once, it took 3years for my credit, but I did all the legwork. I was also part of a class action lawsuit.

If you can't stick 2 fingers between your skin & your bra band, it is too tight!

My first bra fitting?

Jen

Alright well I'm 15 and I've never had a professional bra fitting. I feel like I'm not wearing the right size so I decided I want to get fitted. So I have a few questions and I'd feel really grateful if you answered them all.
1. Do you take off your bra during the fitting? (keep shirt on or off also?)
2.What would I do about my mom? I can't drive so she'd have to take me there.
3. Would I go to victorias secret or am I too young for that. What kind of bras would they give me since I'm not an adult?
4. Cost for fitting?
Thank you :)

Answer
1. Do you take off your bra during the fitting? (keep shirt on or off also?)

For a proper bra fitting, You should be topless. Don't worry they have seen 100's of pairs of boobs there isn't a type of boob out there they have not seen yet. That includes inverted nipples and 3rd nipples too.

2.What would I do about my mom? I can't drive so she'd have to take me there.

Your mom is a woman so she should know that at 15 you need a bra. If she is the one that is buying them for you and she isn't at least measuring you then how would she know your size. I'll do more about a proper measurement to get the right bra down at the bottom

You can use this as a Girls day out. Tell her you want to do something together and take her to s small lingerie store and get fitted together. You might also want to go on youtube.com and look up "How to look good naked" then say I wonder if we are wearing the right bra.

3. Would I go to Victoria's Secret or am I too young for that. What kind of bras would they give me since I'm not an adult?

This is how the fit people at Victoria Secrets. First they measure your bust and under the bust over you clothes and over your current bra. Then they calculate that to find a size and put in a booth alone and ask you to try it on. Well if you have never had the right bra how do you know it's right. It might look better it might look you might feel more comfortable. But you still might not be quite right proper bra fitter is in the booth with you they run their fingers along the band and the straps to make sure they aren't to tight. They don't have an issue looking at you topless no matter what size and shape your body is. Victoria Secrets and lot of Department stores are the same way. They would sell you what ever bra you want them to sell to you. If you want a push up you can buy it. These are clothing items, and they want their money.

4. Cost for fitting?

Free it should be free everywhere you go. each bra can be 30-150 bucks that is where they make their sweet sweet cash. Plus the panties can be 20-100 as well. it is recommended to buy more panties then bra as bra can last up to 3 years if your the same size wear the underwear doesn't last as long.

Why don't you measure yourself and see if your waring the right bra to beginning with.

Fullest part of the Bust inches - Under the bust in inches = your cup size in inches
36inch - 30 inches = 6 inches

Under the bust = your band size. So if you it's 30 then your band size is 30. If it's an odd number like 29 then you have to go up to the next even number to ge the band size. But you should still do the equation like above with the odd number; ie 36inch - 29inch = 7inches

Each cup size is a one inch higher than the next except for aa which is only on half inch smaller than a A cup. AAA is nothing but a bra made for women that are really small so they feel more normal by having a bra.

where to find plus sized maternity tops and bigger nursing bras?

sarah beth

my cousin and i were shopping all day. her baby shower is in 2 weeks and she has nothing cute to wear. She has always been a sweat pants and nikes kinda girl so up until now maternity clothes werent an issue.. We tried going up a size or two in plus but they didnt seem long enough for the belly.. Also where can you find plus size nursing bras? any web sites?! she is disgusted and im exhausted.. lol please help us. thanks!
i was thinking about buying a bra in her size now and being creative and sewing it into a nursing bra.. then when she has the baby if she needs a bigger bra i'll know how to fix it up and she will be set when she gets home.. and we are trying motherhood online now.. thanks!

Answer
Honestly, I've been looking for plus sized maternity bras and have been told by 6 maternity stores that I'd have to buy custom made ones for about $150-$200 each. If your friend is any bigger than DD before pregnancy then she may have to go this route as well. I'm just going to use my normal bras. Women did it for years before maternity bras were invented so I figure I can figure it out. lol

Where can I buy punky plus sized(36/38DD) bras?

Roatha C

I'm looking to buy some lingerie for my wife. She's well endowed and finding bras is usually a difficult task, especially if she's looking for something that looks nice. Anyone know where to find some cute punkish bras in 36dd-38dd? Kind of like the styles you see at Hot Topic etc.

Answer
No sure what you mean by 'punkish bra' but i presume you mean designs with a bit of flair.
I would try Marlies Dekkers (she's a amazing dutch designer)
Playful Promises (they're UK based, ship to the US and are having a up to 70% off sale right now)
Also try bare necessities website, they have an amazing selection from brands like Simone Perele, Harlequin. Elle Macpherson
Myla US is currently having a 70% off sale (prices from $18.00)
The figleaves website has also a good selection of nice bras in those sizes

Bra Fit At Victoria's Secret?

Applestar

so i was thinking about getting a bra fit at Victoria's Secret. Just want to know if it costs anything and what they actually do. (i wanna know what im in for) Answers from people who hav actually been to victoria's secret and had a bra fit would be preferred but anyone else who has had a fitting before and could tell me a few things would be nice. :) thanks everyone

Answer
bra fittings are free. personally I would go elsewhere to get fitted. I have been sized there a number of times and always for the wrong size.

they measured me while standing inthe middle of the bra section, not in a dressing room, over my clothing and bra. they then sent me to a dressing room with this box of different bras in the size they measured me to try on. Basically to find out what style I liked best. That's it.

i don't believe they are the most accurate place to be sized. I was told that I was a 38D back when they still had the Body By Victoria Ipex bras about 4 - 5 years ago. I bought three very expensive ($50+) bras. And within 3 - 5 months, the wires poked out. This is generally a sign that the bra is either has too big of a band size and/or too small of a cup size. i went down a band and up a cup size to a 36DD per a fitting nordstrom's. I have never had the issue again.

Bra size and fit help?

cloe

I've been round about a 36B in bra size for the past three years (I'm almost seventeen), during which time I have grown two inches in height and forty pounds. However, I've recently lost about 12 pounds and a couple inches across my body, and I'm reconsidering what bra size I am.

Not too long ago, I had a rib cage measurement of almost 33 inches and a bust measurement of almost 38 inches (I think; I measured myself and didn't write it down anywhere). Now, I have a rib cage measurement of 31.5 inches and a bust measurement of 37.5 inches (self-measured, again).

At one time, 36B bras fit me perfectly, but as I've gained and lost weight, my bras have become more or less comfortable. I'm considering whether I'm now a 34C.

Bra size calculators tell me that with my current measurements, I'm still a 36B. But I have some fit issues: 1)With my bra hooked on the loosest setting (which is how I usually wear it), my bra tends to ride up. Should I hook it tighter? 2)The cup of my bra fits a bit weird. It's kind of like a tent, as in the round tip of the cup doesn't touch my nipple, the cup kind of pushes against the sides of my breasts near my ribcage, and the band connecting the cups in the front doesn't touch my skin. It doesn't feel like they quite fit or support well.

Please don't just say "have a professional measure you." I'm underage, so I don't know how that would work. What is your personal experience with bra fit? Should the cup fit like memory foam, touching every surface like it was custom made? Have you ever used a bra size calculator and found it to be wrong?

Answer
Bra size calculators are wrong a lot. They sometimes get the cup size right, but the band size completely wrong. According to calculators I'm a 32A, even though a 34B is a bit small on me.

Some fitting tips:
-The middle part between the cups should be touching the middle of your chest completely.

-The band should be pretty tight even on the smallest hook, It shouldn't be suffocating you, but you shouldn't be able to pull it more than around an inch away from your back. Try to get it as small as you can without suffocating. There's bigger hooks so that when the band starts to wear out, you can just use those. When you wear them the first time, it should be on the smallest hooks. I think you could possibly fit a 32 band at the lowest, so try that. Bra calculators may tell you you're a 36 band, but still give 32 a try, you might be surprised to find that it fits.

-The cups should fit completely around the breasts and be touching every part. If it's like a tent, then it might mean the bra cups aren't wide enough and big enough.

Just keep trying on bras until you get one that fits PERFECTLY. It may be a weird size that you think is too big, like a 32D, but when you go down a band, you usually go up a cup, and seeing as your cup may already be too small, you could probably fit a 32D or 32DD. D's aren't always HUMONGOUS, when they get lower in band sizes the cup downsizes as well. A lot of people are wearing the wrong bra size because they don't get the right band size and in turn don't get the right cup size.

Good push up bras for D cup?

Val&Sonny

I'm a 36D and most bras don't have enough support for my comfort. I like my cleavage but I hate those bras at Victoria's Secret that add 2 cup sizes. I'm already a D, you know? So are there any suggestions as to where I should shop for a bra that pushes up but doesn't have a ton of padding?

Answer
If your bra isn't working for you then you might have a wrong fits. You don't need to add two extra cup sizes. You should go to a proper bra fitter as Victoria Secrets is crap, the ignore larger cups size and strap sizes as well as small band sizes. I have a feeling that your brand size is smaller and you cup size lager. You could be a 32 DDD(F) or a 34DD(E). There are penty of bra with out padding.

D cups Push Up Bras?

BeautifulB

Should I wear a push up bra even though I have a bra size of 34 D? Or would it just be like "Overkill! Too much boobage."?

Answer
Well it depends on what sort of clothing you're wearing with the bra...I personally understand you because I'm a 34D..sometimes DD...usually when I wear a top that has a plunge to the bosom...i wear a normal D cup that still gives ample support...instead of a push up...but if you decide to where a top that say a button up shirt...or doesn't have a deep plunge then definitely wear a push up...but make sure your breast fills it up and doesn't show that sort of jiggle...I always wear vest or tank tops with all my tops because it brings a smoothness...especially with shirts or jerseys...Hope this helps
