I don't think those adhesive bras will work for you, and I assume that is the conclusion you hinted at yourself, when you said 'appropriate bras in my size' :)
Maybe something like this could work?
http://www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/accessories/low-back-converter-clips-dplus/black/nt02bl/?show=16&sort=1&level=1
Not quite low enough, but it is fairly cheap, so you could get it to try out with.
Or you can try full body versions
http://www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/bodies-and-basques/miracle-body/black/ul20bl/?criteria=backless&show=16&sort=1&level=3
(I know it is sold out, don't know when they'll get stock again though)
http://www.herroom.com/fashion-forms-29065-plunge-bodysuit.shtml
(doesn't come as cup-sizes, but seems fairly adjustable, and if it is only for one evening maybe it could work! It is weird-looking though!)
Then there is also this:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Diamante+Backless+Bra+White+by+Splendour&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:da:official&client=firefox-a
It is not truly backless though, it has little simili-stone chains across the back. I know it is not ideal, but it is so limited!
I can't think why more people haven't made extra low backs with straps... It doesn't seem impossible!

Strapless backless bra?

Charisse
I bought this really pretty dress from Earth Bound for prom, but its a halter, low, and backless. Its also silk so the fabric is thin, anyways I'm mildly concerned about the whole no bra thing with it, so I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions? I know vaguely about those adhesive bra's, but I live in a semi-small town and I'm not sure if Victoria's Secrets has them.
Any advice is appreciated. :]
Answer
Try shopping online for them. I know JC Penny's has them. I had ordered one for my winter formal this year (I don't like the whole going braless thing either, I like some support and I think it looks odd when women don't have that). Though you have to be careful with sizing, mainly with pushup ones. I ordered a 36 A (my usual size) and it was made smaller than my usual bras (and thus caused great difficulties for me in making it work). You may want to consider some "lingerie tape" which is about $7 a dispenser to make sure everything stays snug and secure. You can probably find them in local stores too like Walmart.
