j20

Please explain or give me a link to a website.I seriously want to learn

Answer
dribble twice with your strong in front of your defender, and on the third dribble quickly dribble the ball to your off hand, and then blow by your defender for a layup or pull-up jumper, this is the easiest streetball move in the game and anyone can do it, it is called a CROSSOVER

Will streetball moves help me in General Basketball tournaments?

MuraPartyi

I mean like copying their moves and all,To be honest i think Streetballers such as hotsauce have amazing moves which cannot be a foul and i could use them so much in the game and actually cross the defender. What do you think?:D

Answer
Not at all...Basketball games are where the business gets done...there's no place in basketball for streetball moves...it's a waste of energy and will increase ur chances of a turnover, not seeing the open man, n ppl telling u 2 pass the ball off...a simple cross over will do or in and out...u just have 2 use wut the D gives you...if u must cross between the legs, then use it only when u need to...it's about protecting the ball....go out there, put the ball in the hoop and help create open shots 4 others, get bak on D, don't foul, and play basketball...forget streetball...

Can you use streetball moves in the NBA?

like if you know what the boomerang is.... can you use that in like a normal game like a highschool game. i think itd be pretty funny if i did that in a game.

Answer
Yes, to a degree. Some of the crazy crossovers in streetball are used by professional NBA ballers. However, a lot of streetball techniques would be called for traveling or carrying in the NBA. You can't dance around your feet while doing crazy acrobatics with the ball, because that is almost surely a travel or carry. Other moves are just unclassy and will most likely not work, like bouncing the ball around the defender or through his legs. Usually, the defender or his teammates will intercept the move, and if the performer messes up, it looks awful. Some of the lower-risk moves, like the alley-oop or double crossover, are used in the NBA for show. The biggest reason, however, is that they just don't work at the NBA level, or they would be used more often. In a high school game, I'm sure it could be pulled off, but it would look terrible for you and your school if you mess up. And even if you do it, it would make you look trashy and cocky.

What's a good way to learn streetball dribbling moves?

john b

Should I just watch them play and then practice or what?

Answer
I can only tell you how I did it, obviously. When Iverson first came out all I did was watch the same footage over and over and replicated his movements without the ball while I watched it in slow motion. The moves work the best when you don't think about them. Learn the rhythm and placement of everything, the opposing player, the ball-handlers feet, the distance between the two. I never had my own court so a buddy and I would practice crossing each other up and down the whole parking lot, in a zig-zag pattern. If you are really serious you can get the moves. I would suggest that you start with the fundamentals suggested by another person below. Look at youtube clips (wish I had these when I was younger...anyway) of Tim Hardaway, Isaiah Thomas, Pistol Pete Miravich and then go on to Iverson, Stephon Marbury, Byron Davis, and then to the And 1 players. But please understand that the And 1 players do a bunch of illegal crossovers. Especially hot sauce, his best mixtape was probably his first Mixtape volume 3. Remember to keep your head up, no move can make up for missing the open player right under the basket (remember you're trying to win ultimately, not just embarass the opposing team). I got more to help you out but I'll stop here...after this last point. Please don't waste a bunch of time with air alert, jump soles and all the other crap at the end of slam magazines (I love slam, don't get me wrong) but that stuff will only divert your energy from the important stuff. If you want to weight train ask if you can join the football team so you can do it properly. There are also some great clips of MJ teaching the fundamentals on YouTube, plz learn this stuff as well...ok that's it have fun, you got a lot to work on......Oh play basketball every chance you get especially in front of a crowd. Like AAU...ok I'm done...

How difficult is it going to be to learn streetball moves?

mc*

I love playin ball to win but most to embarris my opponet. I manage my own now but i really wanna school em but where do i even begin to learn =/

Answer
first you have to have good handles. than look at what your comfortable with. are you fast or slow. than you watch streetball videos. try to copy some moves. look at hot sauce. he's probably the most well known streetballer. and just practice by yourself. keep practicing the dribbling part.
in a 1 on 1. you don't even have to win. streetball the point is to embarrass your opponent.

How do players do those streetball moves?

Chris Muri

I've seen a lot of tapes of Rafer Alston playing streetball and passing it to himself from behind peoples heads and through their legs. I've also seen Philip Champion aka hot sauce do many of these moves and more. How do they pass between peoples legs and back to themselves? And how did hot sauce get those crazy handles? I know sometimes they carry, but I still want to be able to do those moves.

Answer
Some moves are done by just spinning the ball, and how to get handles, same way you get good at basketball, practise lol. Just check up the moves you like, practise them, ad your own stuff and style and voila.
