Q. im going for australia 3 japan 1 world cup game!:D amazing come back by our boys i lost my voice for a week from screaming
Answer
There are so many best sporting moments its hard to choose one. my top 5 (in no particular order) would be:
1. Then entire Australian world cup soccer- Germany campaign.
It not only made sporting history, it made the fledgling sport a major force in the country and give it the sponsorship it so desperately needed. The only team to beat Australia did so by lying and cheating their way to the finish line and winning an Oscar for best actor in the process. In most Australians eyes their team played the game on their terms, with honor and are yet to be truly beaten. Even the Brazilians, the most feared team in the game, were forced to change their game tactics in order to win. That was our first professional world cup. The world cup is now on notice that Australia is a force to be reckoned with.
2. Kieren Perkins winning Gold at the Atlanta Olympics in the jinxed lane 8 in his final swimming race.
He was in poor form. Most of Australia had written him off as too old. He went so fast, he left everyone else in his wake. The nearest competitor, fellow Australian Guy Kawalski, was 6 seconds behind.
3. Australia vs Uruguay - qualifying round for the World cup - Germany.
For years and Years the setup of the World Cup qualifying rounds had forced the winner of the Oceania division, Australia, into a death-match against the fifth placed South American team, usually Uruguay. The tactics of both the Uruguay team and their national supporters were the lowest of the low. They took the medal for poor sportsmanship to new levels. The sweetest moment of all was winning knowing that doing so they would never play under these terms again. The following year would see Australia leave Oceania for the Asian division, where there were guaranteed seats for the finalists of the Asian Qualifying round. Winning ensured Australia's first entry into the Semi Finals of the world cup in over 30 years. The last team Australia sent were quite literally Amateurs. This time the World would look up and take notice. It certainly made Australia hold its breath for the entire game.
4. John Landy's amazing win during the Mile race at the 1956 Australian Athletics championships.
In the 3rd lap, Landy stopped to see if Ron Clarke (who had fallen) was ok. After some delay he chose to take on after the race leaders. Amazingly he caught them all and won in a time of 4.04.02. Remember that Landy was the second man in history to break the 4 minute mile. He would later read the oath at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, and his mate Ron Clarke would light flame. A moment to treasure, where winning wasn't as important as how we played the game.
5. Australia II wins the Americas cup in 1983 after 132 years of American domination of the challenge.
Beating the Yanks at their own game, now that was a pleasure to behold.

What is your funniest sporting moment?
Pretty 'n'
Answer
In physical education we played a sport that was a hybrid of soccer and basketball. You had to dribble and pass the ball like soccer, but shoot it into a basketball goal like basketball. One kid was dribbling the ball down the court, and I went in for a slide tackle. I took him out and recovered the ball, but when I jumped up my pants were on the floor. The worse part was I was wearing my spongebob square pants boxers, and I was 17. To top it off, I had to hear about it all day. I had P.E. in the morning. Every girl in class came up to me at some point in the day to tell me " Nice Boxers" and then giggle and tell all their friends. Never again will I play any sport with breakaway pants. You know the pants with the buttons down the side.
Another funny moment was in baseball. I was the catcher. I went for a poorly thrown low ball. It caught a weird bounce of the plate and bounced right up into my balls. It was the worst pain i have ever felt. There was a big crowd watching the game. I could hear a lot of guys simeltaneously say "ouch" from the bleachers. They had to delay the game for a few minutes. I just had to lay there embarrassed and in pain.
